Adultery and Divorce
ADULTERY AND DIVORCE
"I knew married church people that connected with other church people and ran off from their marriages. What hypocrisy!"
Yep. So do I.
In the very church I attended as a child - when I grew to be a young man,
that church had changed pastors and brought in a younger pastor with a wife and a child.
The pastor was beloved, but there were enemies in his camp.
One of the deacons took up with the pastor's wife - and they ran off together, with his child.
The married deacon, father and farmer, abandoned his family and farm for the pastor's wife.
I'm sure the pastor wasn't perfect, but still - I always felt sorry for him.
So, why did God let that happen?
Free will... every human being, no matter their position, will misuse their free will.
Sometimes in little ways, sometimes in huge ways.
Even so, God is still on His throne, and everybody has to answer for the harm they cause.
As a water-drinking human, if my water glass breaks, I won't quit drinking water -
I will get another glass. If it were an heirloom glass, I would mourn it -
but I would still keep drinking water.
It's the same with God and church.
Keep after the important stuff.
